Traditionally, work is done in an office. But due to the COVID pandemic numerous businesses adopted the policy of WFH model. Many companies have accepted this policy of working from home whereas some businesses which are engaged in direct physical work suffer a huge loss. Currently approximately 85% of the businesses are running remotely from past couple of months. However, there are few companies that are operating from home even before the pandemic began. Not surprisingly, several companies predominately IT companies will embrace this method even after the pandemic gets over as this phenomenon not only increases work productivity and efficient but also provide flexible work time. While, industries that deal directly with physical work like transportation, warehousing or industries which offer face-to-face services like accommodation and food services faced a huge crisis both financially and productivity wise. Therefore, WFH badly impacted the lifestyle of some industries which are struggling to get back on track while in other cases it strike in a great way to increase the overall productivity and fertility of the organization.

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY EXERCISE WFH METHOD?

In order to successfully accept and execute WFH as a business model there are few things that the organization needs to keep in mind.

1) The employees are necessarily equipped with the right hardware and software tools to perform their task. Besides, the organization has a digital adoption solution that enable their employees navigate, utilize and adopt their software.

2) Second of all, there must be strong internet connection that helps to extract data quickly.

3) Company leaders and managers should also have firm faith and trust in your employees that help bolster their morale and self-esteem to implement and execute any project.

The new working trend:

From the past couple of months, corporate businesses across the global somehow manages to at least survive during this arduous time. Although this crisis enervated the very backbone of majority of businesses, however, WFH solution has provided some much-needed traction to mitigate the work load and thereby generating source of income for the employees as well as for the employers.

But at this point of time, it is crucial to realize what this changed means to the employees and how this work phenomenon influenced their life? How are they coping? More importantly, is this the new way or culture of working?

A study was conducted via online survey that illustrate 64% of the respondents seem optimistic about working from home whereas 21% are pessimistic and 15% have a neutral opinion. This survey had demonstrated that most are happy with this change.

Major Suffering

Although there are countless skilled people in our nation but the majority of folks are engage in labor job that involves direct physical efforts. As a consequence WFH model is not suitable for those individuals. Hence this pandemic has adversely impacted the life of the common masses that are involved in hand-to-mouth work. No wonder some are still battling to find a job even after such a long period of time. However, government has launched various packages to bolster nation’s economy that help alleviates the unemployment level across the nation.

HOW TO MANAGE TIME WHILE WORKING FROM HOME:

Currently, WFH is a latest technique of doing business and it is essential for the employees to organize their valuable time by setting a timeline in order to work efficiently and produce the best possible outcome. However, the employer or the company leaders must designate everyone their work by conducting a meeting in the initial hours of the day that give them a brief outlook of what they are supposed to do. Below are the few points that help you to control your time

· Begin your day with your main task. Start your day with the most valuable work as in the initial hours of the day the productivity of any person is highest as compared to the later hours. Besides, you should know your priority and according to that you should set your timetable.

· Secondly, it is necessary for everyone to have a to-do list and accordingly you perform your task and manage your day.

· Lastly, plan ahead. Planning plays a crucial role in executing your goals and achieving your day-to-day task on required time.

BENEFITS OF WORKING FROM HOME:

1) Flexible schedule: While working from home you can take breaks at any moment, feel no rush to hang up when communicating with friends and relatives. Besides, eat anything at anytime.

2) Save time and money: While working in designate workplace required a plenty of time in commute but in case of WFH you save the most valuable asset of time and with this you save money which are required in traveling.

3) Work in homey outfit: Workplace required a proper formal outfit whereas you get to wear whatever you want while operating from home.

4) From the employer point of view, his/her organizations are willingly offering their employees the option to work from home as it decreases their office rent cost.

DISADVANTAGE:

1) Tough to stick to a routine: It is difficult to follow the schedule once you have the habit of working in an office as the order you do things in office is never the order you do things at home.

2) Working slowly: There is a different zeal involved in the office which enable coworkers to perform tasks at fast pace. On the other hand, you feel cozy and comfy while working home that results in slow output.

3) Isolation: Quite often working professionals complain of loneliness and may be depressing to some. Since the workplace provides a location to meet people and make friends, coworkers working from home have to be more creative and resourceful in getting to know people and in staying in touch with their colleagues.

This new flexible and versatile working environment is a great way to do work as it is slowly eliminating the conventional way of working — the ideal 10 to 6 job with a long commute to an office. However, despite this challenging time many companies across the planet are planning on making majority of positions permanently remote to lower down their expenses. As work is becoming more dynamic and we’re moving towards the future, there will most likely be different framework to accommodate these changing needs.
